What We Do

Central Scotland Fire and Rescue Service provides a wide range of services to the community..

Our Community Fire Safety Advisors visit schools in the area to educate children on the dangers of fire. More information and interactive games can be found on our Just for Kids section.
We give talks to various groups and organisations about how people can protect themselves from fire and we offer FREE Home Fire Safety checks to all members of the public. You can find out more about what is involved at our Home Fire Safety Visit section.
We hold Open Days and other fundraising events throughout the area, to demonstrate our work and provide fire safety advice.

We inspect business premises to check safety standards under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order (RRO) to minimise the risk of fire for people visiting and working in our area. You can find out more about fire legislation at our At Work section.

If you have a fire, or suspect a fire of any size, dial 999 and ask for fire.

We will attend and deal with the incident in an efficient and professional manner.
We use our training and equipment to keep damage to your property to a minimum.
After a fire, we will offer you advice on getting things back to normal.

If a person becomes trapped, for example in a road traffic incident or a lift, dial 999 and ask for fire.

We will send skilled Firefighters with specialist equipment to help with the problem.
Firefighters receive regular first aid training and will work with the other emergency services to keep distress to a minimum.

We are trained and equipped to deal with a range of emergencies, including flooding and rescues.
