About CSFRS

Organisation & Structure

The Service is managed from its Headquarters in Maddiston, which is near Falkirk.

The headquarters building sits at the heart of a network of our Fire Stations and is within minutes of the giant petro-chemical complex at Grangemouth, which ranks among the largest in Europe. Along with the docks and timber yards this represents one of the largest fire risk areas in Scotland.

As our name implies we lie in the centre of Scotland, bounded on all sides by the other Scottish Services with the exception of Grampian to the north and Dumfries & Galloway to the south.

Central Scotland consists of three separate unitary authorities, Stirling to the north and west, Clackmannan (the wee county) to the east and Falkirk to the south, with an area of over 1,015 square miles and containing a population of approximately 284,000.
