Community Risk Register

Central Scotland Strategic Co-ordinating Group has just published its Community Risk Register. Its purpose is two-fold.  Firstly, it helps to inform the public about the potential hazards that exist in varying degrees within Central Scotland. It seeks to reassure our communities that in the unlikely event they should occur, detailed plans and procedures are in place to provide an effective response   Secondly, it ensures that the resources of partner organisations are focussed on providing the best resilience, response and recovery capabilities possible in respect of the hazards faced.  Click HERE for a copy.

Announcement on the future of fire control rooms

scot_parliament.jpg No central action is to be taken to reduce the number of fire and rescue control rooms, Ministers have concluded.

Early in the New Year the Scottish Government will consult on the minimum standards of resilience for control rooms necessary to protect Scotland in the 21st century. Fire and Rescue Authorities - and their relevant local authorities - will determine how best to deliver these requirements within their local communities.
