Firefighter Information Day for Females and Members of Black & Minority Ethnic Communities

Central Scotland Fire and Rescue Service will be holding information sessions on Sunday 25th May 2008 to allow Females and members of Black and Minority Ethnic Communities to find out more about becoming a Firefighter.

At Central Scotland Fire and Rescue Service, we endeavour to ensure that our Service is as diverse as, and reflective of, the communities that we serve. We want to encourage and attract individuals from all sections of the community and these information days are an opportunity to let under-represented communities find out more about a career in the fire service.


These information sessions will enable Females and members of Black and Minority Ethnic Communities to ask questions and gain an understanding of the selection process and how they can best prepare according to their needs.

Important Information About the Industrial Action at Grangemouth

The purpose of this letter is to ensure that you are informed about the efforts of a number of organizations which have been working to ensure the current industrial action at Grangemouth causes minimal impact on the local community.

SCG statement on Grangemouth refinery flares

flares.jpgThe planned shutdown as part of the proposed industrial action of the INEOS petro-chemical works at Grangemouth is expected to cause additional flaring for the next 48 hours (Wednesday/Thursday 23/24th April 2008)

Flaring often takes place on site as part of the routine shutdown programme to safely disperse of some of the by-products found in the petro-chemical industry.

Mr John Noble - Funeral Arrangements
Tuesday, 29 January 2008
Following discussions with John's family, the funeral arrangements for John have been confirmed for Friday (1st of February)  as follows;

mungos.jpgJohn will leave from Alloa station followed by the family cortege on its journey to St Mungos Parish Church, Grange Road, Alloa, where the service will take place at 13:00. The church service will then be followed by a service at  Falkirk Crematorium commencing at 15:30.

The family has requested family flowers only with any donations being made to the Fire Service National Benevolent Fund .
