More than 50 firefighters have been tackling a fire at a joiners workshop in Bonnybridge overnight.
Central Scotland Fire and Rescue Service control received a call at 11.32pm on Thursday and crews from Bo'ness, Falkirk, Larbert, Stirling and Denny were sent to the scene at the town's Broomhill Road.
At the height of the fire, 7 appliances, the aerial ladder platform, the water carrier and command unit were all in attendance at the workshop which measured 80 metres by 20 metres. The road was also closed.
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus and using 5 handheld hose reel jets, ground held monitors and a hose reel jet from the aerial ladder platform worked to bring the blaze under control.
Incident Commander Gordon Pryde said:
"This was a large fire and as a result there has been significant damage to the building.
"Due to the fire loading at the premise, our firefighters had to work extremely hard to prevent the fire from spreading. We will now be working with the police to establish the cause of the fire."
Although the incident has been scaled down, 2 appliances remain at the scene this morning (Thursday) with crews carrying out damping down work at the building.
