Elderly Couple Rescued from Home

Posted on 19th January 2012

Firefighters have rescued an elderly couple from their home after a fire broke out in the early hours of this morning (Thursday).

Two appliances from Falkirk and one from Bo'ness were called to the scene in Bo'ness Road, Falkirk, around 3.18am and the two occupants were removed from the building by firefighters wearing breathing apparatus.

They were taken to Forth Valley Royal Hospital believed to be suffering from smoke inhallation.

Firefighters believe that a smoke detector helped to alert the couple to the fire.

Crews remained at the scene until 4.38am.
