E-FIRE

Efficiently managing information and providing transactional fire-related services

Aim: This project enables the fire service to obtain, exchange and provide information in a more efficient way, to provide transactional services via the internet and to provide other channels of access such as digital television.

Project outcomes: The e-Fire project is made up of five streams, each of which is designed to provide a key component for Fire Brigades to use in their delivery of electronic services.

Products delivered by e-Fire will enhance the provision of safety information, create new avenues to access details about the fire service, remove barriers to allow the dynamic sharing of information and capitalise on the prioritised outcomes of the e-government agenda.

The underlying philosophy for the project is the importance of resilient and robust information and communication technology (ICT) and infrastructures to provide the information upon which the Fire Service, citizens and business depend.

Project status: Development phase.
