A FORMER rescue shelter dog was rescued once more – but this time from a fire at her Clackmannan home.

Susie, a three-year-old lurcher, was resuscitated by Alloa firefighters after she was found lifeless under her owner’s bed following a living room fire.

Beatha Tallis (74) and her son Alexander (43) returned to their Mar Terrace home to find firemen carrying out CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) on their pet dog.

And Susie proved that cats can’t claim to be the only animals with numerous lives, as she came around after hearing a call from her owner.

Alexander said, “The firemen were trying to revive the dog by giving her oxygen through a mask and pumping her heart. She was on the ground and wasn’t moving but as soon as I whistled and called her name she started wagging her tail.”
