My heartfelt sympathy goes out to John's wife and family at such a sad time.
Having lost my nephew almost 3 months ago in the Atherstone fire it brings it home YET AGAIN what special people firefighters are...true heroes! I hope you will all be able to find some comfort in knowing that the whole country is grieving with you.
John....may you Rest In Peace along with Darren, Ashley, John & Iain.

My Thoughts Are With The Family Of This Hero x
God saw you getting tired. When a cure was not to be,
He closed his arms around you and whispered, "Come to Me".
In tears we saw you sinking. We watched you fade away.
Our hearts were almost broken, you fought so hard to stay.
But when we saw you sleeping so peacefully free from pain,
We could not wish you back to suffer so again.
So keep your arms around him Lord, and give him special care.
Make up for all he suffered and all that seemed unfair.

I never met John, but those I have spoken to who knew him had nothing but praise for him. My thoughts go to John's family at this tragic time.
